Vice President Kashim Shettima has decorated the Acting IGP, Egbetokun Olukayode with the rank of Inspector-General of Police.
The ceremony had in attendance: National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma; Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; and the immediate past IGP, Usman Alkali.
After the decoration ceremony, the immediate Past IGP, Baba Alkali said he was happy to hand over to a competent hand that will further strengthen ongoing reform’s to reposition the nations police force.
The new police chief, in his remarks indicated his resolve to fight all forms of criminalities and ensure Nigerians go to bed with their eyes closed.
Egbetokun was before his appointment as acting IGP, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Force criminal investigations department, Force headquarters Abuja.
