National Insurance Commission NAICOM the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, AMMC have setup a Joint Committee to work out modalities for the enforcement of compulsory building insurance within the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by NAICOM’s Management in Abuja and made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA.
According to the statement, the Commissioner For Insurance, NAICOM, Sunday Olorundare Thomas who played host to the Director, Development Control of AMMC, Mukhtar Galadima and his management team emphased need for enforcement and compliance by building developers and occupiers.
He said the insurance of public buildings is enshrined in sections 64 & 65 of the Insurance Act 2003.
