The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) alongside 63 like mind opposition lawmakers have thrown their weight behind the Speakership bid of Hon.
Tajudeen Abbas of the All Progressive Congress. The Spokesperson of the CUPP and House of Representative member -elect for Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere gave the indication at a Press Conference in Abuja.
Ugochinyere who stated that the group endorsed Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker and Benjamin Kalu as Deputy Speaker based on their competence to manage the affair sot the green chamber.
The member elect further called on other candidates in the race to do the needful.
Ikenga however denied insinuations suggesting the house rules have been tempered with, clarifying that the leadership election will be conducted by open ballot system.
