As the race to who to become the next President of the senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives intensifies, the Coalition of Northern Groups has called on the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, the APC hierarchy to reverse the endorsement of Senator, Godswill Akpabio as the President of the 10tg National Assembly.
The Coalition’s Spokesperson, Abdul- Azeez Suleiman, who made the call at a news conference in Abuja said the imposition move by the President-elect and the party leadership for the top seats of the two chambers of the National Assembly is a gross violation of democratic ethics and constitution.
Insisting on the emergence of the leadership through a transparent electoral process, he said the conspiracy to tamper with the National Assembly leadership selection process will put the North at disadvantage.
While further urging the party to reverse the undemocratic arrangement, the coalition, however reiterate its commitment of engaging all leaders in order to protect the sanctity of democracy.
