130 Returnees Arrive Abuja from Port Sudan
The second batch of 130 evacuees comprising of 128 women,children and two men have arrived Abuja from Port Sudan. They arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport on board B737-300 aircraft belonging to TARCO Airlines, by 3:40pm.
Addressing journalists at the airport, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Nasir Sani-Gwarzo reiterated government commitment towards ensuring that all stranded Nigerians are evacuated.
He further gave an update on video clips via social media concerning some pregnant women and sick persons. On his part, the representative of the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Umar Salisu revealed that the Federal government will also evacuate stranded person’s from neighboring countries.
Plans to also evacuate the remaining 1000 Nigerians still trap in the east African country was also highlighted at the briefing.
