The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority NEPZA, the organization in charge of driving Government’s initiative in diversifying the nation’s economy has officially presented licence to the Delta State Government to kickstart a proposed special economic zone in the state.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Abuja, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa noted that plans are in to gear to get the economic zone working for the benefits of the state and Nigeria at large.
He further highlighted measures already put in place by his government for investors to leverage on and benefits from the project.
Earlier, the Managing Director of NEPZA, Adesoji Adesugba assured the Governor of the needed support to drive the project.
With the licence to operate the special economic zone, Delta State is set to replicate what is happening in Lagos State by becoming another business hub in the country.
