The Federal Government says the deadline for registration of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination was extended to give more candidates opportunity to be part of the exercise.
Permanent Secretary, federal ministry of Education, David Adejoh gave the indication after monitoring the registration process at the Global Distance learning institute Computer based test center in Asokoro Abuja.
Adejoh who justified the extension said it is to ensure no prospective candidate is left behind.
Meanwhile, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB Prof Ishaq Oloyede said over 1.6 million candidates have so far registered for the UTME.
He expressed satisfaction with the registration process nationwide.
The UTME registration is expected to end on Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023.
