The federal government has once again assured Nigerians and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC of the Armed forces support to ensure a peaceful conduct of elections in the country. The Permanent Secretary, federal ministry of Defence, Dr Ibrahim Kana gave the assurance during a media interaction at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja. Kana stated that the military is behind the electoral umpire to ensure a credible election and peaceful handing over to the next administration. He added that the synergy among the three military services had resulted in great successes recorded in fighting security challenges in the country. On the fight against insurgency and other insecurity challenges, the permanent Secretary explained what the government is doing to localise arms production.
