N-Power Fraud: Farouq Pledges To Support Investigation By ICPC.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs,Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq has pledged support to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC in its investigation on alleged fraud in the N Power Programme.

This indication no doubt may be connected to the recent arrests of popular musician Mr Oladipo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as ‘D’Banj’ over alleged N-Power fraud by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.

Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the minister represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo said the Ministry overtime deployed a well-rounded mechanism for selection of eligible beneficiaries from across the country.

The minister further explained that when the ministry was notified about sharp practices by some personnel of the Payment Service Provider (PSP) involved in the payment processes of beneficiaries, it immediately contacted the ICPC for thorough investigation.

She however said the Ministry has carried out thorough reinforcement of its systems to eliminate all anomalies and prevent similar occurrences in the future Tra The minister also used the opportunity assure all N-POWER beneficiaries of Federal Government’s continued commitment to the programme.

At the main time,, the ministry has directed beneficiaries of the programme to apply themselves to their Places of Primary Assignment.
