As the countdown to next year’s general election continues,it is expected that the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission will be a beehive of activities with visitations from key electoral stakeholders from within and outside the country.
Their mission no doubt is to ascertain the level of preparedness for the election and solicit areas of Support to ensure it reflects the wishes of the electorates.
For the Commonwealth delegation on Pre-Election assessment mission to Nigeria, their mission at the commission was to ensure the electoral body work its talk in delivery a free and fair general election.
The team led by Abiola Sunmonu,Advisor and Head of African Section further indicated plans to engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure a peaceful poll.
Responding, NEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, assured the international community that the commission would deliver credible elections in 2023.
Yakubu once again assured of INECs unwavering commitment to deployment of innovations in the conduct of the 2023 general elections.
