The Federal Government has stated its commitment to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for all Nigerians, assuring that the provision of health insurance for the elderly and retirees remains a preference.
The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, made this known in Abuja at the formal presentation of the Ministerial Committee report on the provision of health insurance for retirees and elderly in Nigeria.
commended the committee for the work it put into the report which according to him speaks volumes of the character and commitment to duty of the members.
Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Ministerial Committee, Linus Awute, says the report lays emphasis on financial risk protection of the elderly, noting that is where the issue of funding comes in.
