As the 2023 general elections draws closer, political horse-trading and manoeuvring has taken the centre stage as political jobbers and gladiators are out to outwit one another.
This came to play as the Coalition of United Political Parties(CUPP), accused the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) of plot to compromise the 2023 general elections by digital vote buying process code named Operation Wire-Wire.
The CUPP spokesman, Ikenga Ugochinyere who disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja said the plot hatched in Imo state and adopted by most APC states has the account details of vulnerable Nigerians especially those in the rural areas as their targets.
He also raised the alarm for the alledged plan to arrest and remove the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission , Mahmood Yakubu for his resolve to conduct free, fair and credible elections.
The CUPP spokesman also called on Nigerians to resist any attempt by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila and some lawmakers bent on frustrating the Central Bank of Nigeria’s naira redesigning.
The Coalition further urged Nigerian voters to protect theirs votes at every polling unit in 2023 until it is transmitted and announced by INEC.
