As 2023 General Election is fast approaching, a non governmental organization under the aegis of Priest Peace and Justice Initiative PPJ has organized a one-day training on election observation for some christians.
At the venue of the training in Abuja, the organizers say the aim is to prepare the observers on how to be upright, objective and to maintain neutrality while engaging in the exercise.
Speaking on the rising cases of attacks on political rallies in the country, the facilitator, Jide Ojo urged security agencies to step up their game by nipping the incident in the bud.
He also canvassed for a peaceful environment where the election observers would do their job without being victims of political violence.
The programme manager, PPJ, also used the opportunity to urge the participants to shun corruption and speak up against the cankerworm in country.
Participants at the election observation training were drawn from different christian denominations with the task of exhibiting zero tolerance to corruption as they prepare ahead of the general elections.
