If there is one Nigerian that has been in the media lens lately,it is the Chairman of the National Population Commission NPC,Hon Isa Kwarra.
Ever since President Buhari approved the conduct of the Housing and Population in 2023, Kwarra alongside the leadership of the NPC have embarked on various advocacy initiatives to solicit the supportor Nigerians on the census exercise.
The commission no doubt is also undertaking various projects to ensure the next year’s headcount is seamless and hitch free. It is however not surprising that the NPC boss hosted the National Council of Traditional Rulers at the NPC headquarters in Abuja.
The traditional rulers led by their chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar described the census project as key to delivery Democratic governance to Nigerians.
pledged their commitment to support the commission in efforts to deliver on the census mandate. Meanwhile, the NPC Chairman in his remarks applauded the visit and collaboration saying it will help in efforts to conduct the first ever digital census in 2023.
Kwarra added that the decision to go digital in the head count exercise, was informed by the need to use technology to provide relevant data for national growth and development.
The Traditional Rulers were however drafted as ambassadors of the 2023 National and Housing Census by the NPC leadership..
