Ahead of the 2023 General Elections, The Albino Foundation has joined hands with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities in flagging off a campaign tagged ABLE2VOTE, which aims at improving the participation of persons with disabilities in the electoral process.
At the signing of a memorandum of Understanding between the organizations in Abuja, Founder, Albino Foundation Jake Epelle noted that the campaign will ensure disability issues are mainstreamed into electoral matters throughout the electoral phases.
While commending INEC for all inclusive political process, he called for at least 6000 PWDs to be adequately equipped to participate in political and electoral process before the 2023 general election.
On his part, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disability, James Lalu, assures the support of the Commission to champion the cause of Organisations of persons with disability.
There is an indication that the campaign will go round the six geo political zones of Nigeria to create awareness among PWDs.
