Ahead of the 2023 Census,the National Population Commission in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency have indicated plans to mobilize Nigerians on the importance of the headcount exercise.
Both agencies embarked on a road show traversing the nooks and crannies of Abuja sensitizing the residents about the 2023 Housing and Population Census.
The purpose of the partnership according to the NPC Chairman,Hon Isa Kwarra is to deepen the already established collaboration towards an aggressive mobilisation of Nigerians and FCT residents for the next census Kwarra who hinted that preparations are already in top gear by the commission to conduct a successful Census, expressed confidence that the partnership with the NOA will help sensitize Nigerians on the importance to be counted during the exercise.
He further reeled out steps taken by the NPC to conduct the first ever innovation driven national headcount.
Also at the briefing,the NOA Director General Garba Abari who expressed delight in the confidence reimposed on the NOA to mobilize Nigerians for the headcount exercise, restated commitment to deploy structures within the agency’s Communication channels to deliver on the mandate.
Indications from the NPC suggests that the road-show would be stepped down to the 36 states of the federation.
