A Coalition of United Political Parties, Civil Society Organisations & ethnic Youth leaders have indicated an alleged plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress to undermined the 2023 general elections.
Speaking at a joint live press conference in Abuja,CUPP spokesman, Ikenga Ugochinyere alleged that the plot coordinated by leading figures of the APC is aimed at intimidating the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deactivate the Bi-modal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS) from the it’s server and stop the use of electronic transmission of results during the 2023 general elections.
He however vowed on behalf of coalition and its allies to resists the plot and petition relevant international bodies to ensure next year’s general elections reflects the wishes of Nigerians.
The CUPP also reacted to other issues of national importance including call for prosecution of persons behind the alleged compromise of voters’ registration Exercise especially in APC controlled states.
The coalition further vowed to take it’s campaign for a free fair credible election to the international community to mount pressure on Nigeria to do the needful for a hitch free electioneering campaign before and after the general polls.
