The Federal Government has conferred Nigerian citizenship on two hundred and eighty-six foreign nationals from forty-nine countries.
The Minister of interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola stated this at the 2022 conferment ceremony of Nigerian citizenship by Naturalization and Registration held in Abuja.
Aregbesola who noted that the Foreign Nationals have been so pleased to share in the growth and destiny of the country, welcomed them to Nigerian hood.
He further noted that the country will continue to encourage foreigners who meet stipulated conditions for becoming Nigerians, by laying a seamless path to citizenship before them.
Earlier, the permanent secretary, Ministry of interior, Dr Shuaib Belgore encouraged the beneficiaries to continue to contribute their quota to the economic development of Nigeria.
Some of the Foreign beneficiaries expressed their joy over the achievement saying they will add their quota to the growth of the country.
The Federal Government however assured of it’s determination to continue to encourage and attract more foreign investors, high net-worth individuals, highly skilled individuals and people of talents, into the country.
