The Governor of Delta State and the vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa has expressed worry over the Muslim- Muslim presidential ticket by the All Progressives Congress(APC), saying it will further divide the country.
Gov. Okowa who gave the indication at the Northern Christian youth assembly summit in Abuja said the only ticket that can work for Nigeria is the one aimed at unifying and proffering solutions to the lingering challenges faced in the country.
While commending the youth group for organizing the meeting to discuss Nigeria’s challenges on the pathway to finding solutions, Okowa expressed optimism that the PDP would win the 2023 elections especially as many Nigerians have keyed into it’s project.
He further urged the youths to be prepared for the future by participating actively in the present. The Governor also condemned the trend of bullying in the cyber space saying Nigerians should be allowed to express their choices ahead of the 2023 general elections. everyone should be allowed to express their choices.
Earlier, the convener of the Summit, Rt. Hon Abok Ayuba who assured the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar of the Northern Christian youths support said the youths will be mobilised for further discussions to ensure he coast home to victory in next year’s election.
The theme of the one day Summit is “Unifying Nigeria: The role of Northern Christian Youths and Women”.
