Breaking: You Have 3 Days To Prepare Final Defence, Tribunal Tells Onnoghen
Barely Few days after producing his first witness at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, has closed his case. Counsel to the embattled CJN, Chris Uche who made this known at the resumed hearing said the defence took the decision having considered all evidences and testimonies before the tribunal. He however, requested for a period of 14 days to enable the team file their final written address noting that all that has been brought before the tribunal has been put into due consideration. Responding, prosecution counsel, Aliyu Umar, stated that despite he was informed of plans by the defence counsel to request for 14 days extension for written applications to be filled, it was solely at the discretion of the tribunal to decide the amount of time to be given.
