The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) has inaugurated the National Mirror Committee for adoption and certification of education management standards.
Speaking at the inauguration of the committee, the Director General, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Farouk Salim said Nigeria has done well in the area of keeping to international standards both in products and services delivery.
Represented by the Director, Training services, Timothy Abner, the SON boss said the decision to adopt the International Standards on educational organizations management system ISO 21001: 2018 is apt at a time when the country has opened its borders to all forms of trade with other African countries.
The Director, Standards, Yahaya Bukar also spoke on the significance of the initiative to the economic development of Nigeria.
The newly inaugurated National Mirror Committee is to be Chaired by the Director Quality Assurance and Servicom Unit, UNILAG, Prof. Grace Otinwa who will be assisted by the President, Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria, Abiodun Odusanwo.
