The Nigerian Army has disclosed plans to convert parts of Sambisa Forest recently decimated in the fight against Boko Haram into tourism centers with zoos and parks. According to the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai , Sambisa forest have every feature of a durable Ecosystem Tourist Center that will generate revenue for the country. Speaking at the opening ceremony of a week long seminar on regimentation and combating security challenges associated with forests and protected areas in Abuja, General Buratai, represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans Major General Ali Nani, Buratai said the initiative intend to make the nation’s forest safe and also build capacity to develop the needed progress for national security.
