Motorists Lament Hike In Pump Price Of Petrol.
It is no longer news that the pump price of premium motor spirit also known as petrol has been unilaterally raised from #165 to 185/#190 by major oil marketers of Nigeria.
They said the decision was premised on the ground that 165 naira per litre price was no longer realistic.
The development has consequently, resulted to the disappearance of queues at filling stations around Abuja metropolis and suburbs, Checks by Channel Network Afrique indicates that some filling stations have adjusted their pump price to the new order.
While some of the motorist were quick to express joy at the disappearance of queues, they however raised concerns at the resultant effect of the action. They further urged the government to take necessary measures that will get the nation’s refineries functional again.
The motorists also applauded the federal government policy on fuel subsidy insisting that its total removal will subject Nigerians to more hardship.
