The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and two commercial banks to release the Certified True Copy of the biodata of David Ukpo Nwamini to the Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice.
Justice Inyang Ekwo made the order while giving a ruling on application filed by the Ekweremadus through their counsel Adegboyega Awomolo.
Awomolo in his argument said Nwamini’s National Identification Number, which is in the possession of the NIMC, should be produced for the purpose of facilitating the criminal investigation and tendering to establish Ekweremadu’s innocence.
The counsel also asked the court for an order directing Stanbic IBTC Bank and UBA to provide the Certified True Copy of mandate card and account opening package of Nwamini in their custody.
The London Metropolitan Police arrested Senator Ekweremadu and his wife over allegations of conspiring to bring a child to the UK for organ harvesting.
