The Nigeria Defence Headquarters DHQ has vowed to intensify onslaughts against Terrorists, Bandits and other criminal elements as part of commitment to restore peace and normalcy across the country.
This is as the Defence spokesman, Brig General Bernard Onyeuko at a news conference in Abuja gave an update on various troops engagement across the country from 16th to 30th June,2022. He said scores of bandits were neutralized by the air component of troops of operation Hadarin Hadaji in the Kufar Danya village in Bukkuyum local government council in Zamfara state.
According to Onyeuko,the air interdiction was initiated following report on a planned attack on the village by bandits numbering over 150.
Also, the northeast and central theater operations were also captures in the briefing as General Onyeuko reeled out various troops interventions that aided the killing of terrorists,bandits and recovery of arms and ammunition,rustled cattles among others.
Meanwhile, over 400 Boko Haram and Islamic of West Africa province members and their families surrendered to troops across various locations within the period under review.
While 2 criminals were killed from a combined security operation led by 302 Artillery Regime after a raid operation on the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra a d Eastern Security Network Camps in Nnewi, Anambra state, 26 oil thieves were also arrested for illegal refinery of over 3 million litres of crude oil in the south south zone.
General Onyeuko however convened the commendation of the Defence high command to troops in various theater operations and also solicited for more intelligence cooperation on activities of criminal elements from the public.
