FMST&I,ICPC Join Forces To Tackle Corruption In Civil Service.

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation, Mrs Monilola Udoh has indicated plans to collaborate with the ICPC to ensure that rules and regulations of civil service are implemented for the desired development and growth of the country.

Monilola Udoh said this today in her office when the officials of ICPC on development of ethics and compliance scorecard and Anti- Corruption, and Transparency Unit (ACTU) effectiveness index in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies paid a courtesy visit on her.

The Permanent Secretary in a statement from the ministry described the civil service as the engine room of the government that drives the policies and activities of government for socio- economic and progress of Nigerians.
To this end, the Permanent Secretary enjoined all calls civil servants and Nigeria to maintain high integrity and shun corruption which is inimical to the nation’s economic growth.

Consequently, she called for more staff welfare and motivation in order to encourage the civil servants for prompt service delivery.
Earlier, the Assistant Commissioner, ICPC Mr. Dio Emmanuel told the Permanent Secretary that the essence of  the visit is to check the integrity of the ministry and to score her in line with the rules of ICPC.

He stated that since ICPC has not come to the ministry for system study and review that means the ministry’s score in the past is on the high level explaining that the ministry has substantial compliance.
 According to him, ACTU has institutionalized in organizations to ensure consistence study and enlightment of staff with their Ministries, Department and Agencies.ReplyForward
