The Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund,TETFund, Arc Sonny Echono has admonished vice chancellor’s of the nations ivory towers to channel more energy for actualisation of the agricultural transformation agenda of the present administration.
The TETFund Boss gave the indication in Abuja at the vice chancellor’s roundtable on the implementation of Agricultural Research and Innovation Fellowship for Africa (ARIFA) in Nigeria.
Echono who described the sector as key to addressing the nations unemployment challenges,cited various developed nations of the world that have leverage on the gains of the sector to better the lot of their citizens.
In his rermarks the, executive secretary of Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), Dr. Yemi Akinbamijo applauded the TEFund driven initive, saying the the outcome will focus on priority areas of demand for increased capacity in STEM. The theme of the 2 days meeting is ” building the post-vicosa symposium action plan.”
