The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate Abayomi Oyebanji as winner of the 2022 Ekiti State Governorship Election.
The election which took place on Saturday saw the APC winning in 15 out of the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
Oyebanji of APC polled 187, 057 votes to beat his closest rival, Engr. Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who got 82, 211 votes.
Bisi Kolawole of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 67, 457 votes to place a distance third position.
The election which was largely peaceful,recorded large turn out of voters with incidents of vote buying in some locations.
