The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor has called for greater synergy in tackling insecurity challenges in the country.
Gen Irabor who stated this at the Defence Media Operations bi weekly press briefing to update Nigerians on the strides recorded by the Armed forces of Nigeria in diverse operations noted that while it is within the purview of security agencies to tackle crime related activities, such efforts would yield better outcomes with the support and cooperation of all Nigerians.
The Defence Chief who highlighted the place of intelligence in addressing security challenges such as the recent Owo attack assured the perpetrators would be brought to book. Gen Irabor also used the opportunity clear the air on availability of required equipment to prosecute the various insecurity challenges, insisting that greater progress is being achieved in the area of Improvised Explosive Device.
He said the armed forces and indeed other security agencies remains undaunted in the task of ensuring a safe Nigeria especially ahead of the 2023 general election.
