In line with the Federal Government’s plans to addressing the high rate of unemployment especially among the youths by increasing social development, eighty Nigerian youths have been empowered through training and skills acquisition in different trade areas.
The three months training package by the Industrial Training Fund in conjunction with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development was basically on apprenticeship system with an in-class and on-site trainings.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Abuja, the ITF Director General, Joseph Ari said the training programmes was to produce skilled and highly competent technicians, artisans and service professionals for the public sector of the economy.
Represented by the Director Technology and Vocation, Lami Dakwak, the DG said the treanees are the Batch C1 and approval has been given by the ministry for the next batch C2.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, while congratulating the graduands, urged them to take their jobs seriously.
The Minister noted that the gesture was a clear demonstration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s mission and vision of empowering the youths population.
Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of certificates and starter packs to the graduands.
