As the ruling All Progressive Congress APC make last minute consultation ahead of it’s 6th June special convention, a group known as Movement for Better Nigeria wants president Mohammed Buhari not to yield to pressure from some quarters to choose a candidate who does not have the capacity to lead the nation to it’s desired destination. The Group at a news conference in Abuja however is rooting for the candidacy of vice president Yemi Osinbajo who it’s coordinator Amb Paul Dowells described as a tested and trusted man of charisma. He said the choice for Osinbajo is centred on his leadership qualities, loyalty and love for the present administration as exemplified during his temporary stay as Acting President of Nigeria. The Movement further outlined reasons why the party’s leadership from the North should stand by Vice president Osinbajo. They also condemned the trending monetisation of delegates as seen in the convention of other political parties saying it negates the corruption that the Buhari administration is known to fight against.
