As political activities heat up ahead of the 2023 general elections, a coalition of youth leaders from the rulling All Progressives Congress and other national bodies have endorsed one of the Presidential aspirants Ibrahim Dauda as the party’s consensus candidate.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the covener of the group Igwe Umanta, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to honour the promise he made to hand over power to the youth after his tenure in office. Described Ibrahim Dauda as a young Nigerian of unassailable leadership credentials, Mr. Umanta said despite being young, the APC Presidential Aspirant has the capacity to lead the country especially at a time dynamic and digital leadership is most desirable.
The group however, urged the rulling party to grant them the right to first refusal, on the party’s consensus arrangement in order to ensure massive youth support come 2023.
