As part of its efforts to compliment the measures put in place by Nigerian authorities to curb corrupt practices in the country, a faith based organization, Priests Peace and Justice Initiative (PPJ) has intensified its advocacy on shun corruption campaign among the Christian faithful.

At a 3-day capacity building on Christians and fight against corruption in Nigeria organized by the palace of priests Assembly with support from MacArthur foundation in Abuja, the programme director, Pastor Otive Igbuzor noted that the event is to sensitize the various religious leaders and groups on need to be actively involved in politics and the fight against corruption in the country.

Speaking further, Igbuzor frowned at the level of looting of public funds by the politicians, calling on Christians to join politics to change the narrative. Other speakers at the event agreed that the corrupt attitudes of the ruling elites are the major cause of the economic challenges facing Nigeria.

Key among expectations at the end of the workshop is to build the capacity of the religious leaders to spread the shun corruption advocacy and also impact their locality with good morals.
