The Federal Government has disbursed the sum of over 642million naira to each of the nations public universities. Also, each of the public polytecnics and Colleges of Education are to get over 396million naira and 447 million naira respectively.
Executive Secretary of TETFUND, Arch Sonny Echono announced this at a Strategic Interactive Session with Heads of Tertiary Institutions in Abuja. He said the 2022 annual direct intervention is part of the federal government desired national objective to achieve the nation’s human capital needs through a robust and high quality higher education sector.
Echono further assured the institutions of efforts put in place by TETFUND to ensure a seamless access of the annual allocation. The TETFUND boss also disclosed plans to refocus the Funds entrepreneurship intervention including other interventions to reposition the nation’s tertiary institutions.
Meanwhile, the minister of Education,Mallam Adamu Adamu represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Andrew Adejo tasks the beneficiary institutions to ensure effective utilisation of the annual allocation. The programme attended by heads of various public tertiary institutions has as its theme ” Ensuring Synergy for Effective Implementation of TETFUND interventions”.
