Nigerians have been urged to use their diversities to promote oneness, lasting peace and unity of the country. Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission Dr. Yakubu Pam gave the indication at the Nzem Berom Cultural Festival in Abuja.
Rev Pam who chaired the ceremony appraised the relevance of cultural festivals to peaceful coexistence saying it will create the platform for Nigerians to learn from one another in a more positive manner.
The NCPC boss further advocated need for citizens to channel their energy to peace initiatives and shun violent tendencies that will divide the country.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, represented by the Commissioner of Information, Plateau State, Dan. Manjang, noted that youths are agents of peaceful coexistence hence the need for them to work in that direction for the liberation of Nigeria.
The festival which was celebrated across the states of the federation was spiced with performances representing the cultural heritage of the Berom people.
