The leading opposition, Peoples Democratic Party has screened the former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, former Senate president, Bukola Saraki and other presidential aspirants under its fold ahead of the party’s primary election slated for May 28 and 29.
The 17 aspirants submitted themselves for the screening at the Legacy House in Abuja, the party’s alternate national secretariat.
Answering questions from journalists, some of the aspirants expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the screening while also giving indication on their individual chances of clinching the party’s presidential ticket for the 2023 election.
Before facing the PDP screening panel headed by the former Senate president, David Mark, the 17 aspirants paid 40 million naira each for the expression of interest and nomination forms of the party except the only female aspirant, Teriela Oliver Diana who paid 5 million naira.
