As political horse trading and postulations continue ahead of the 2023 general elections, former National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA Chief Chekwas Okorie has urged the people of the South East to wake up from their Political slumber and utilize their numerical strength in the agitation for power.
Chief Okorie gave the charge in Abuja at the occasion of the public presentation of his book entitled “APGA and the Igbo Question”.
Okorie who went memory lane citing the political sagacity of late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe who through several alliances gave the Ndigbo a voice on the late sixties to early eighties described the gesture as the missing link in the Clamour for power shift to the South East.
He said the book points the way forward for Ndigbo in Nigeria especially as it relates to their perceived alienation from the commanding heights of Nigerian bureaucracy and political power.
Meanwhile, President Mohammadu Buhari represented by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity Femi Adeshina assured of his administration’s commitment to ensure the people of the South East are evolved in governance.
For the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, his presidency will change the narrative and restore hope to all Nigerians.
The book title APGA and the Igbo Question and authored by Chief Chekwas Okorie also provided recommendations on the way forward for Ndigbo in Nigeria.
