2023: PVC Is Your Power, Right To Vote -PWAP
As the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC commence the collection of Permanent Voters Card, PVC for next year’s general elections, Nigerians have been urged to go to their registration centres and collect their PVC. As part of efforts to ensure Nigerians, particularly women get their PVC and vote for the candidate of their choice, a Non Governmental Organisation, Pan African Women Project, PWAP carried out a PVC collection sensitisation drive in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Addressing some market women at the Garki Model Market, Abuja, the Head of Mission, PWAP, Dr Eno Udensi urged them to step up their level of preparedness for the forthcoming general elections by ensuring that they don’t only register for the PVC but collect it and vote because it is the only weapon they can use to vote credible leaders. Dr Udensi further urged them not to dettered or discouraged noting that their votes will count especially with the deployment of technology for next year’s election.In her remarks, the Director, Gender and Inclusivity, INEC headquarters, Bello Lakunuya who stated that women are no longer marginalized expressed optimism that the 2023 general elections will be good. The PVC collection which commenced from 12th December,2022 will end on 22nd January. 2023
