The 18 registered political parties, under the aegis of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), have once again appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for modification of the guidelines for the 2023 general election.
Speaking on behalf of the political parties at a meeting held with the INEC leadership in Abuja,the Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council,IPAC, Engr Yagbaji Sani said the slight alteration is to enable the parties explore the June 3rd to 10th window in the electoral act to add value to the processes proceeding the conduct of Primaries.
Responding, INEC Chairman,Prof Mahmood Yakubu requested for time to enable the commission study the request and take a position. Recall, the political parties only recently had requested for extention of time for conduct of primaries and other related activities,which was vehemently rejected by INEC.
