13-Year-Old Captive Saved as Op Fansan Yamma Clears Indulumu Enclaves
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have neutralized several terrorists and rescued a 13-year-old kidnap victim during a targeted offensive in the Sububu Forest, military officials confirmed.
The operation, carried out by troops of Sector 2, 8 Division, focused on clearing identified criminal enclaves within the Indulumu and Ruduno villages stumbled on 13-year-old Halira Ibrahim, who had been held captive by the insurgents.
In a statement signed by the Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Captain David Adewusi and made available toChannelNetworkAfrique, CNA News, indicates that the troops engaged hostile elements in a series of fierce encounters, resulting in the elimination of multiple terrorists.
During the sweep, the following items were recovered or destroyed:
Weaponry: Two AK-47 rifles and one magazine containing 28 rounds of ammunition.
Gear: A pair of woodland camouflage uniforms.
Logistics: Two motorcycles utilized by the terrorists for mobility were destroyed on-site.
Beyond the immediate combat, troops conducted “extensive exploitation” of the forest, locating and dismantling several hidden camps and life-support structures.
According to the statement, the actions have significantly degraded the logistical capabilities of the groups operating in the area.
Military leadership emphasized that Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains resolute in its mission to deny terrorists safe haven and restore long-term security to the North West region.
